St. Matthew’s is the fourth and last of the churches named after the Four Evangelists envisioned and enlived by Trinity Church, Tulsa.
The first services were held at Garfield School December 14, 1958 and the present site overlooking Sand Springs Lake was acquired in 1959 with the building being erected in time for the first services to be held on Easter 1962.
